Overview – Handheld xDSL Tester
This light weight, handheld xDSL tester is designed to test and analyze VDSL, ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ networks. It accurately tests the physical, network and application layers at a high speed. The compact tester is an invaluable tool for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of any xDSL network. It is used in “ATUR+PC” emulation without an additional ADSL2+/VDSL2 modem or PC.
Key Features – Handheld xDSL Tester
- Large true color LCD display with touch panel
- Windows CE OS, graphical interface
- Easy to operate
- Supports web browsing
- Auto power-off
- Audio and LED indicators
- Software is upgradable online
- Indicates whether cable qualifies for xDSL service; automatically sets up critical line threshold parameters and compares real test results with the thresholds to determine service qualification
Technical Specifications – Handheld xDSL Tester
xDSL Physical Layer Testing - ADSL2+ module: Fully supports all current ADSL standards, which includes ANSI T1.413 Issue 2, ITU-T G.992.1 (G.dmt), ITU-T G.992.2 (G.lite), ITU-T G.992.3 (ADSL2), RE-ADSL2 and ITU-T G.992.5 (ADSL2+)
- VDSL2 module: additionally supports ITU-T G.993.2 (VDSL2)
- Tests upstream/downstream maximum speed and channel utilization
- Tests upstream/downstream noise margin, output power and power attenuation
- Tests error value at proximal and remote ends FEC/CRC/HEC/NCD/OCD
- Auto test and display proximal and remote signal loss, frame loss, power loss, cell loss, border loss and many other line impairments.
- Displays bits per tone and SNR per tone of each sub-channel and displays results graphically and numerically
- ATM F4. F5 QAM loopback test
xDSL Network Layer Test - Supports RFC1483 (RFC2684), PPPoE (RFC2516), DHCP, RAP/CHAP and variety of upper layer protocols
- PPPoE dial-up obtain IP address and Ping test
- Fixed Ping test
- Ping test that includes Ping loss test (be able to identify times and package size) and Ping loopback latency test (to test its MAX, MIN and Average level)Router tracking test
- Replaces ADSL2+/VDSL2 Modem
xDSL Application Layer Test - Web browsing
- Web rate measurement
- FTP speed measurement
Ethernet Test - DHCP client test
- PPPoE dial-up is used to test the problem from user’s IP broadband or LAN
- Network layer test: Ping, Ipconfig, Route and Tracer, etc.
Cable Test
Digital Multi Meter (DMM) is used to test loop resistance, insulation resistance, capacitance, AC-DC voltage and estimate wire length
