Handheld Visible Fault Locator

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments recommends its handheld visible fault locator which is commonly used for optical network installation and maintenance. The fault locator is a visible red laser source specifically used to find fiber faults in fiber jumpers, patch panels, enclosures, connectors and couplers. It uses visible light to accurately indicate the location of fiber faults from a macro bend point, break, problem coupler or connector or a mechanical splice that is not well aligned.

This handheld fault locator, model A0630008, features low voltage warning and automatic power off for saving energy. It distinguishes the faults of fiber jumper, jumper board, distribution frames and tie-ins and remedies the usual limitation of the dead zone of an OTDR. It can test the fault location of OTDR blind-measuring area accurately. In addition, the practical visible fault locator uses FC, ST and SC adaptors. CW and 2Hz alternative optical output modes are available.
