It provides stable output wavelengths including 650 nm red source, 1310/1550 nm for single mode fiber and 850/1300 nm for multimode fiber. SDH/PDH Transmission Analyzer

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its palm-sized, graphic SDH/PDH transmission analyzer which is designed for installing and troubleshooting E1, DS3, STM-1/OC-3, STM-4/OC-12, and STM-16/OC-48 lines. It conducts E1 pulse mask analysis, overhead analysis, point analysis and anomaly/defect analysis as well as bit error rate (BER) testing. It features compact architecture and a large TFT LCD touch screen. The analyzer belongs to GAO’s E1 BER Tester family of products.

This portable SDH/PDH transmission analyzer, model A0020005, incorporates electrical interfaces for SDH/PDH and optical interfaces for SDH/SONET while Tx and Rx are completely independent. Its various functions include automatic tributary scanning, automatic protection switching (APS) measurement and round trip delay measurement. The analyzer offers flexible software-defined simulated LED indicators for current and saved historical error indication. Performance analysis conforms to G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, ZM.2100 and M.2101 international standards. It has a USB interface for data exchange either by cable or via storage. As well it has RJ45/RS232 interfaces. The analyzer’s firmware is upgradeable.  Additionally, its large battery capacity enables continuous operation for more than 6 hours.

Portable Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) Analysis Meter

This portable analyzer efficiently and accurately tests analog channels, QAM and FM channels. It also measures channel power, modulation error rate (MER) and bit error rate (BER), signal level of DVB networks at a specific frequency or any carrier within the system range. This portable QAM analysis meter, model A0500005, operates over a wide frequency range of 5 MHz to 870 MHz with a resolution of 10 kHz and complies with ITU J.83 Annex A and DVB-C standards. It features intelligent power management, fast charging, fast setup, multi user plan and alphanumeric input and also functions as a voltmeter. This meter performs C/N measurement, return path testing, voltmeter functionality, spectrum analysis, data logging, analog TV measurement and DVB power measurements including QAM, QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) and COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). The QAM meter uses a serial interface for data transfer.

This power meter is a suitable tool utilized in telecommunication and CATV maintenance as well as in fiber optics test labs. This meter belongs to GAO’s Power Meter family of products.

This multi-function power meter, model A0670007, features an automatic calibration function and power measurement within a wavelength range of 800 to 1700 nm. Calibrated wavelengths including 850, 980, 1300, 1310, 1490, and 1550 nm are available. It offers dual measurement range including -70 to 3 dBm and -50 to 26 dBm at an accuracy of ±5% with a resolution of 0.01 dB. It displays optic power test results in mW, dB and dBm clearly on its large, high resolution LCD screen. CATV Cable Fault Locator with TDR Technology

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments has released its CATV cable fault locator used to test cables to discover impedance break points and locate and reveal cable damages and terminal impedance failures in HFC systems. This locator is able to automatically locate and indicate the distance to many kinds of RF cable faults such as short circuits, open circuits or high resistance points. It belongs to GAO’s CATV Meter & Instruments family of products.

This smart CATV cable fault locator, model A0500007, uses time domain reflection (TDR) technology to display cable faults on its LCD screen and uses the analysis software to analyze the status of the cable. The pulse propagates with the certain speed specified for different cable types. The CATV cable fault locator accurately tests 25, 50, 75 and 100 Ohm impedance cables with a length of up to 2 km. It provides an electronic map relevant to the time domain picture so that faults can be detected easily. In addition, the locator has a “Self-Study” function and can connect to a computer for file upload and data analysis.

Parallel Data Acquisition Card

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments recommends its parallel data acquisition card. It is ideal for applications such as transient signal recording, refined frequency synthesis, multi-channel parallel acquisition and time-phase-sensitive acquisition. It offers four parallel channels with an independent 20 Msps 12-bit A/D converter and four independent programmable gain amplifiers for each channel. It belongs to GAO’s PCI Data Acquisition Card family of products.

This parallel data acquisition card, model A0720002, provides a maximum sampling depth of 16 M per channel. The voltage signal acquisition ranges from ±100 mV to ±20 V and the maximum sampling rate is up to 20 Msps. Gain errors and zero-bias of each channel can be controlled independently by the DAQ controller’s fine tuning which provides high measurement accuracy and phase consistency. The card has many triggering sources, including software (manual), internal and external triggering. No manual adjustable components insure the high reliability and stability of this product.
