DDS Function Generator Capable of Producing Sine, Square, Pulse and DC Waveforms

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its DDS function generator capable of producing sine, square, pulse and DC waveforms. It is designed for use in such applications as communication equipment and electronic component production.

Using Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technology, this function generator, model A0230004, is able to generate different types of electrical waveforms over a wide frequency range of 40 µHz to 40 MHz. It provides a sampling rate of 180 MSa/s and a waveform length of 4 to 16000 points.

This DDS function generator has outstanding features including convenient data input via dial or numerical keyboard and protection against over voltage, over current, short circuit and reverse voltage. It provides stable output waveforms down to 1 mV with impedances of 50 Ω and has a high pulse duty cycle resolution of up to 0.1%. Amplitude is variable between 1 mVpp to 20 Vpp from a high source impedance of 50 Ω. Waveform quality remains excellent over the full amplitude range. In addition, it includes both an RS-232 interface and a USB interface as standard. These interfaces can be used for remote control of all of the instrument functions and for storing instrument set-ups. The generator can store 40 groups of settings.

This easy-to-use DDS function generator belongs to GAO’s family of Logic Analyzers and Generators. USB Arbitrary Function Generator Utilizes Direct Digital Synthesized Technology

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments has launched this USB arbitrary function generator which features high frequency accuracy, high waveform resolution, and high reliability due to the implementation of DDS (Direct Digital Synthesized) technology. It is widely used in various electronic lab and manufacturing environments

This USB arbitrary function generator, model A0210002, operates over a wide frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 25 MHz. It generates regular waveforms such as Sine, Square, Triangle, Saw-tooth, TTL, White Noise, Gaussian Noise, Trapezoid, Exponent and AM and FM signals. It can read waveform data files produced by Tektronix oscilloscopes or Tektronix waveform editor software. Parameters such as amplitude, frequency and offset are programmable.

It has one channel for 12-bit arbitrary synchronized waveform output, one 6-bit input channel for counter/frequency measurement and an external trigger input. It also has a built-in 50 MHz frequency counter. This generator features full plug and play capability and a USB interface so no external power is required. It runs under multiple Windows OS including Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista and 7. In addition, this generator ships with both SDK and API and can be easily integrated or embedded into other auto-measuring systems.

40 MHz Two-Channel Computer Based USB Digital Storage Oscilloscope

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments has launched this 40 MHz USB PC-based oscilloscope. This oscilloscope combines the functions of an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, waveform recorder, signal generator, voltmeter and cymometer into one unit. It is commonly used for testing and maintenance of data lines, electronic equipment and in laboratory work.

This portable easy-to-use PC based oscilloscope, model A0120001, operates at a real-time sampling rate of up to 100 MS/s and 40 MHz bandwidth. The digital oscilloscope has 23 measurement functions and PASS/FALL checking functions. It has auto, normal and single triggering modes and the triggering level is adjustable. The USB PC based oscilloscope has FFT spectrum analysis and displays waveform average, persistence, intensity, invert, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and X-Y plot. It boasts four adjustable vertical modes including CH1, CH2, Dual and ADD. Waveforms can be saved in text, MS Word, Excel or graphic files (JPG or BMP) formats under most Windows OS.
