Portable Fiber Optic Visual Light Source

This portable fiber optic visual light source, model C0220002, when used together with GAO Instruments’ portable optical fiber identifier (model C0230002) provides an economic and efficient solution for measuring optical loss in fiber optic cable. It offers 1 to 6 wavelengths of highly stable output including 650 nm visible red light, 1310/1550 nm wavelengths for single mode fiber and 850/1300 nm wavelengths for multimode fiber. Other optional wavelengths are available. This rugged fiber optic visual light source operates at modulation frequencies that include CW, 2 Hz modulation output at 650 nm and CW, 270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz modulation output at other wavelengths. Optical Power Multi Meter Features Multi Wavelength Precise Measurements

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its handheld optical power multi meter which integrates an optical source and optical power meter into one device. It utilizes an internal microprocessor and linearity magnification technology to ensure long term calibration and test accuracy. The portable multi-meter is well-suited for construction and maintenance of fiber communications and CATV systems.

This handheld optical power multi meter, model C0260001, conducts absolute and relative power tests, optical loss tests for fiber optic cable and passive optical devices. It also performs loop tests and two-way automatic testing. The laser source module operates at dual wavelengths of 1310 nm ± 20 nm and 1550 nm ± 20 nm while the optical power meter module works at a wavelength range from 800 to 1600 nm and can automatically identify frequencies including 270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz.

Digital Storage Oscilloscope Features 5-in-1 Design

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its digital storage oscilloscope. It is commonly used for the maintenance of electronic equipment and laboratory work and suitable for field use in sciences, medicine, engineering and telecommunications.

This digital storage oscilloscope, model A0120006, operates at 170 MHz bandwidth and supports up to 512 universal trigger levels. It features a 5-in-1 design, that is, it integrates a digital oscilloscope, a logic analyzer, a FFT spectrum analyzer, an electronic counter and a clock Jitter analyzer into one device.

The module efficiently solves complicated trigger problems by providing a comprehensive set of triggers such as rising or falling edge, pulse width, delayed and count. It provides a maximum repeat sampling rate of 20 GS/s and single shot sampling rates of up to 1 GS/s. The DSO has 4 M/8 M sampling data acquisition buffers on each channel and boasts a Fast Fourier Transformations (FFT) function for bandwidth tests. This digital storage oscilloscope also provides a precision 125 MHz frequency counter, multi-window software, optional DLL libraries, and up to 7 digital resolutions at 1 M memory for each analogy channel as well as convenient timing state display for logic debug.

This digital storage oscilloscope belongs to GAO’s family of USB PC Based Oscilloscopes. GAO’s USB PC Based Oscilloscope combines a high performance PC based digital storage oscilloscope (DSO), two/four 8 bit channels, 80MHz bandwidth, 250MSa/s sample rate, and 256K/512K/1Mega sample memory buffer with an eight/sixteen 250MHz channels’ logic analyzer and an FFT spectrum analyzer. 1SDH/PDH Transmission Analyzer Performs On-Line and Off-Line Tests

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its SDH/PDH transmission analyzer. It is used for pulse mask analysis, overhead analysis, point analysis and anomaly/defect analysis as well as bit error rate (BER) testing. The analyzer is widely used in R&D, manufacture, acceptance testing, performance monitoring, maintenance and measurement of SDH/PDH networks and devices.

This SDH/PDH transmission analyzer, model A0020005, performs on-line and off-line tests of T1, E1, E2, E3, E4, DS1, DS3, STM-1 (155M), STM-4 (622M), and STM-16 (2.5G). Performance analysis conforms to ITU-T G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, ZM.2100 and M.2101 international standards. Multiple tasks can be created and deleted dynamically. Its various functions also include automatic tributary scanning, automatic protection switching (APS), round trip delay measurement, TCM serial monitoring, timing and synchronization testing and real-time optical power testing.

This transmission analyzer features flexible, software-definition, simulated LED for current and historical error indication. In addition, this analyzer has a large memory capacity to record bit error and alarm events that can be displayed in charts and graphics. Test results can be saved as HTML or TXT format or uploaded to U-disk or PC for further analysis, reporting and printing.

This portable SDH/PDH transmission analyzer belongs to GAO’s family of E1 BER testers. This line also includes E1/T1 BER Tester and Data Transmission Analyzer which performs error code testing at the rate of 50 b/s to 2048 kb/s and offers 2M online monitoring for routine maintenance, repair and operations monitoring of communication equipment, Multi-functional E1/Datacom Tester which performs channel tests, alarm analysis, fault location and signal analysis, Handheld E1 Bit Error Rate (BER) Tester and other similar testers.
