SDH/PDH Transmission Analyzer Offers External Clock Tx and Rx Interfaces

Toronto, CanadaGAO Instruments is offering its palm-sized, graphic SDH/PDH transmission analyzer. It is used for pulse mask analysis, overhead analysis, point analysis and anomaly/defect analysis as well as bit error rate (BER) testing. The analyzer is commonly used in R&D, manufacture, acceptance testing, performance monitoring, maintenance and measurement of SDH/PDH networks and devices.

This advanced, handheld SDH/PDH transmission analyzer, model A0020005, performs on-line and off-line tests of T1, E1, E2, E3, E4, DS1, DS3, STM-1 (155M), STM-4 (622M), and STM-16 (2.5G). Its various functions also include automatic tributary scanning, automatic protection switching (APS), round trip delay measurement, TCM serial monitoring, timing and synchronization testing and real-time optical power testing. Performance analysis conforms to G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, ZM.2100 and M.2101 international standards.

This transmission analyzer features flexible, software-definition, simulated LED for current and historical error indication. It incorporates electrical interfaces for SDH/PDH and optical interfaces for SDH/SONET while Tx and Rx are completely independent. This analyzer has a large memory capacity to record bit error and alarm events that can be displayed in charts and graphics. Test results can be saved in HTML or TXT format and uploaded to for further analysis, reporting and printing. Additionally, it is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery for continuous operation of more than three hours.

Portable xDSL Tester for Testing Various xDSL Lines

Toronto, CanadaGAO Instruments is offering its portable xDSL tester which tests xDSL physical layer parameters and confirms whether a line is suitable for xDSL service. This xDSL tester is designed for testing various xDSL lines including ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, READSL, and VDSL2.

This easy-to-use xDSL tester, model A0010005, features a portable handheld design with strap and operates under Windows CE operating system. The xDSL tester evaluates line quality, performs PPPoE dial-up, provides Web page browsing and emulates a PC+ Modem in order to test the connection to the ISP. It also performs LAN tests including net-card property, PPPOE dial, Web browsing, fixative IP scanning, FTP Client and Web page speed test and DMM tests including loop resistance, capacitance, insulation resistance and voltage.

This xDSL tester provides a maximum test distance of up to 6.5 km and has a large memory capacity of 20 M to save ADSL test records and other data which is transferable through the USB port and LAN. Its embedded software can be upgraded to the latest version via USB or LAN. It conducts Ping, IP config, route and tracert tests. It also emulates a computer to test broadband IP lines or initiate PPPoE dial-up to test IP network connection and troubleshoot modem or computer problems. In addition, it is equipped with a TFT true color LCD with a touch screen which allows for convenient operation and clear display of test results. Powered by a rechargeable 7.4 V 2400 mAh Li-ion battery, this tester can work up to 8 hours.

Portable Digital Scope w/FFT with Large Memory Capacity

Toronto, CanadaGAO Instruments is offering its portable digital scope with FFT and 20 types of automatic measurements. It is commonly used for electronic circuit debugging, circuit testing, design and manufacture, education and training, automobile maintenance and testing.

This 25 to 100 MHz bandwidth 2 channel digital storage oscilloscope, model A0110001, provides real-time sampling rates from 100 to 250 MSa/s and rise time from less than 14 ns to 3.5 ns. It is available in three different bandwidths of 25, 60 or 100 MHz and comes with 2 passive probes which are switchable between 1:1 and 10:1 input ratio. This unit can detect the average and peak values of a waveform and can store up to 5000 waveform points per channel.

The digital scope provides an autoscale function, multiple-waveform calculation function, FFT function and automatic settings function for fast set up. It offers advanced triggering functions including edge trigger, video trigger and alternate trigger. It uses RS232 or USB interfaces for data storage and printing. In addition, with the available battery, it can be used as a portable oscilloscope for up to 4 hours.

DDS Function Generator with High Accuracy and Highly Stable Output

This DDS function generator, model A0230007, has a highly accurate and stable output. It is designed based on DDS (Direct Digital Synthesized) technology and can generate a variety of precise wave shapes over a frequency range of 40 µHz to 60 MHz. Digital Fiber Fusion Splicer for Cable Construction and Maintenance

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments is offering its digital fiber fusion splicer which offers both normal and automatic splicing modes. It is designed for single mode fiber, multi-mode fiber, dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF) and non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber (NZ-DSF). This compact fiber fusion splicer is an ideal tool for the construction and maintenance of fiber and cable in both field and laboratory applications.

This digital fiber fusion splicer, model C0210002, features single X or Y view and simultaneous X and Y views, a short splicing time of 9 seconds and an impressive tube heating time of 30 seconds. It detects cleaved fiber end-face faults and adjusts parameters automatically. Equipped with a 5.6 inch color LCD screen, it displays the cleaved fiber and offset angle and core and clad offset clearly.
